WTS encourages the professional development of its members and promotes industry recognition of women in the field of transportation. These goals are realized in part by encouraging young professionals to undertake and continue careers in the area of transportation. WTS-OC’s Mentoring Program matches each of these young professionals with an accomplished industry professional for one-on-one mentoring.
The Scholarship Committee coordinates with the community and the industry by offering high school, community college, undergraduate and graduate scholarships to girls and women.
Our hope is to foster the development of women in the transportation field by encouraging bright new professionals to undertake careers in the area of transportation. The committee interacts with applicants throughout the application process, collaborates with the Scoring Reviewer Team, coordinates with candidates, introduces winners to networking and the industry at the WTS-OC Annual Gala and continues to keep in contact with winners after receipt of their scholarship.
